Is alumina ceramic resistant to strong acids and bases?

Jul 15, 2022Leave a message

Alumina ceramics have a balanced resistance to acids and bases, and can be used in medium-strong acid or medium-strong base environments under general conditions.

It is not resistant to high strength acids and bases. If the use environment is beyond 1:9 concentration of hydrochloric acid, or more than 10% concentration of sodium hydroxide solution environment, there will still be more obvious corrosion.

The nature of alumina ceramics itself is wear-resistant, high temperature, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, good insulation, because of its relatively inexpensive raw materials, easy to obtain, and therefore widely used in machinery, electronics, chemicals, refractory and many other industries.
