Self Propagating Ceramic Composite Pipes

Self Propagating Ceramic Composite Pipes are composed of three layers: ceramic, intermediate, and steel layers. The ceramic layer is formed by molten alumina at a temperature above 2500 degree.

Self-propagating ceramic compostite pipes are made by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis-centrifugal method. And it creates a new generation of abrasion and corrosion resistant engineering pipeline. The molten alumina produced from the reaction Fe2O3+2Al=2Fe+Al2O3 spreads on the inside wall of the steel pipe under the influence of a centrifugal force, then solidifies, so the ceramic layer has high density and smooth surface and bonds to the steel pipe.

【Advantage】

-- Free equilibrium state

This performance is very useful in engineering construction.

Only when the temperature rises above 400 °C, the thermal stress coefficient is different, and the new stress field generated by thermal expansion and the original stress field in the ceramic steel pipe cancel each other out, so that the ceramic layer and the steel layer are in a free equilibrium state. When the temperature is raised to 900 °C, the self-propagating ceramic composite pipe is placed in the hydrophobic water, repeatedly soaked several times, the composite layer is not cracked, showing the unmatched thermal shock resistance of ordinary ceramics.

 

-- Easy to install

Because the outer layer is steel, and the inner layer does not crack when it is heated, flanges can be welded during construction, and can also be connected by direct welding method. It is better than wear-resistant cast stone pipe, bi-metal composite pipe, steel-plastic pipe and steel rubber pipe, because these pipes are not easy to weld or can not be welded in construction.

 

-- Mechanical impact resistance

The self-propagating ceramic composite pipe has good mechanical impact resistance, and the composite layer does not rupture and fall off during transportation, installation and knocking, and self-weight bending deformation between the two brackets.

 

-- High abrasion resistance

The self-propagating ceramic composite pipe has high abrasion resistance and strong resistance to fluid scouring. In a single air duct, the elbow wears quickly, and the wear resistance of the self-propagating ceramic composite elbow is more than 5 times higher than that of the thick-wall wear-resistant cast steel elbow.

When end users accopany us on site inspections,  we  opened and observed and measured self-propagating ceramic composite pipe that had been used for 1-2 years,  we found the composite layer had not been obvious weared or broken off.

 

-- Lower weight and cost

compare the same specification and unit length of the pipe, the self-propagating ceramic composite pipe weighs about 1/2 of the bimetallic composite pipe, its engineering cost per metre is reduced by 30-40%. And it is only about 2/5 of the weight of the cast stone pipe,so  the engineering cost per meter is reduced by more than 20%.

 

-- High corrosion resistance

When the material  is transported with large grouting material through the pipeline (such as ash, coal powder, mineral fine powder, tailings cement, etc.), there is a problem that the pipeline wears quickly, especially the elbow wears quickly.

Strong corrosive gas, liquid or solid through the pipe, there is a problem that the pipe is corroded and is quickly destroyed.

The material having a higher temperature is transported through the pipe, there is a problem that if use heat-resistant steel pipe cost is high.

But with use the self-propagating ceramic composite pipe available, these problems are solved.
